This spring the K-2 group studied fossils. We looked at the layers of the earth and learned about the Law of Superposition that states that, unless disturbed, oldest rocks, and fossils are further down in the layers.

We learned about the main types of fossils including cast, mold, trace, and true form fossils. We made our own fossils with air dry dough and then again with plaster of paris. We studied real fossils and looked closely at them. We drew fossils.

Finally, we created boards to show what we had learned at our science celebration!
