A group of our younger students have been part of  a class where we first read the book, Wacky Wednesday by Theo LeSieg, and illustrated by George Booth. Then every week they meet to write sentences in their packets, describing the wacky things going on in each page. Students are expected to write complete sentences with capitals and periods, and leave space between their words. As children write, making sure they are writing lower case letters correctly. Time was spent instructing children to make sure letters stretch to the basement and attic.  We talk about spelling rules and children help each other with the sounds they need.
